| During this period, Margot Guilleaume travelled to Berlin and sang for Hugo Rüdel, who was quite impressed and engaged her for the choir of the Bayreuth Festival in 1934. She also had a temporary engagement with the Hamburg State Opera House, first as a chorist and then as a soloist for minor parts. Her first solo appearance was as the first youth in "The Magic Flute" on 3 October 1936.
